Thought she had a late refresher here before going on to Mornington where she was keen early and did not shoot late in the piece behind Hammer Springs. Blinkers On and Ben Melham indicated a reasonable level of intent for the ride and would not remain stable if she was not doing well.

She ran last time at Mornington where she had every chance of pace, but was under pressure before the turn and faltered. The winner was in sight but when Ray went clear, he attacked the line and won, that’s all. Honest, should be around the mark… just not sure I can back him up to win confidently.

7 Tempestari ,Bet Now: $9.50) running like a mile would be ideal. In the above mentioned Rayo race she finished fifth while Alaskan Storm finished second. By racing and drawing like a 1600m suit, she can get pretty close in the race. Sure chance to win.

Thought that was a good thing when she started again at Sandown, but it was a very hot day and she ran in the yard, getting all hot and sore, so forgot she had gone for a walk. So fitter and having jumped the super leading 1200m, he has a lot going for him.

This girl debuts for Jerome Hunter and I thought her jumpout at Mornington a few weeks ago was a lovely job. Close to speed and when clicked, she moved well through her gears and seemingly had plenty in reserve. The map is currently inactive and running stable.

Daughter of Frosted who started over 1100 meters at Benalla where she found a fair way out of her field and was never really a threat but finished fourth behind the impressive winner Aperol Blitz Didn’t pay attention to how to do it. Might want more than 1200m but she will be strong in the end.

Team Keys trained the three-year-old who had not raced since his debut at The Valley in September and was never a winning factor, but after finishing fourth behind Everglade in a Was a real eye catcher. He has gelded and recently accelerated into a jump victory here. Hardly pulled, but at El Mech, he moves on and proves difficult to run down.

He was near full speed and tried to finish the race but could not get there as he took third place behind Gold Revolver who was beaten just under a length. Melham booked and better for runs below the belt, I think he is the key and only threat.

He returns to racing as a gelding, after running twice as a colt during the summer of 2021 where he was solid in good form running each time. He jumped here last week and finished second, pushed out but responded well. The key, and perhaps negative, is that Melham rode him in that jump and he went with the Irish Crickets.

7 titan of choice ,Bet Now: $6.00) at top. He resumed racing over 1200 meters at Mornington where he was badly caught behind the tired horses and the race was over for him with 500 meters to go. To be clear, he wanted to be kept inside so he didn’t help his cause. Bubble Chiker on the near side leads to accelerate it, keep it straight, and that race is rated very well. With luck from the inside gate, he’ll pull out the catch.

He has not raced at Murtoa since 1 October when attempted to lead throughout and gave a solid kick but could not finish it when down the track, somewhat the end of a prep run. Pairs jumping to prepare for a comeback and this steady could set them on fresh fire, so keep an eye on the market.

1 fiery red ,Bet Now: $8.00) is an interesting runner. First with GaiBott, he now finds himself with Ken Harris. By November, he had four jumpouts to be ready, and by the latest jumpout, he looked like a donkey, but when coached by GaiBott, he could test as such on occasion. His best sees him win it comfortably. Do visit the market and yard.

5 Hillcrest Moses ,Bet Now: $6.00) looks like the one they have to beat. Matt Lawrie trained the gelding who last ran at Geelong where he took a mile from his ground but loved the way he got over the line late in third place for Legionnaire . Even though it was a 58, it was a deep 58 and much stronger than what he was facing here. If he gets too close to running, he will face off against this liberal group.

2 Alphaville ,Bet Now: $2.80) Here the final start comes as the winner and gets the honour. Twice an excellent effort at Geelong before proving that was no accident in the slim 58 last time out at Mornington where he overtook his rivals to give them a start and a beating and got better as the race went on It happened He was 1500m so back to 1400m, I think, would be fine, provided he goes ahead and makes it a true 1400m run.

market will be interesting with 1 Dysonic ,Bet Now: $8.00), who resumes for Richard Lamming. He has not raced over 1700 meters at the Gold Coast since 8 October, when he was second to One Game Daring Man, ending a consistent but disappointing preparation. I thought he jumped quite well behind my Thunderstruck here, and he may well sprint fresh, so watch the market, especially with this stable.

i’m really curious 2 Queen Adele ,Bet Now: $3.80) for Cindy Alderson. On the quick back up after racing at Mornington on Sunday… well I say raced, but it was a handicap test. A little luck at the right time and Melham didn’t want to take a clear wind. For me, it was a preparation for this, so I think Melham will be positive from the start, land on the pace, and by the mile, she’ll kill it.

He has been on a fresh side with more than a month between runs since running over a mile at The Valley where Williams wanted to be clear and if you were behind the regal Azmon it was an ugly watch. Has been pulled out so should be getting clean air this time and to me, is the only danger, if any.

4 nudity ,Bet Now: $8.50) has done something wrong in two of John McArdle’s career starts. Did not do poorly on debut at Yarra Valley before being stepped up to 1500 meters at Mornington where he was positively ridden from the start and held on strong to win after being outfitted in a reasonable manner under pressure. He’ll run a mile…being fast enough is another thing. First four threats.

7 Mr. I’m A Believer ,Bet Now: $2.90) is upper and 2025m. Will eat. He would have lost badly if he had not won a fresh start at Geelong, but thankfully he managed to go clear and made a late run to win and win impressively. Other than that, the rise in travel will be fine, he will get off the pace and with huge upsets for Form’s camp, it may be lucky to beat him.

That run came on a track where he was on pace but I thought Ben Allen rode him too hot, put pressure too early in the race and although he ran hard, a sitting shot was dropped and was late by Ancient Egypt Caught from Melham is a huge upgrade and is the main threat.

2 Secret Border ,Bet Now: $14.00) has a reverse and is a genuine choice for the track. She resumed over one mile at Benalla where she found a fair way out of her field but made a sustained run and loomed. Just couldn’t quite see it through, tired late to finish fourth but the run was still full of qualifying. The map will be stronger to work with and in the end.

8 The Swooper ,Bet Now: $2.70) is a Team Hawks three-year-old with a stellar resume and is an attractive runner. He has not raced at Caulfield since Boxing Day 20221 when far from humiliated in defeat behind Jacquinot, and we know what he has done since then. Stuck in well in the Flemington jumpout with Gentleman Roy last Friday, and his form is A1. Watch the market and see what it does.

Kevin Corstens trained the filly who jumped well before resuming in the Yarra Valley maiden where she was back off the pace but trucking into the race with purpose. Offered a clear wind and a late drive for a well-deserved win. The final preparation reads the form around him well and finds a winnable race.

6 Invincible ,Bet Now: $8.50) will get back and be strong of late. She hasn’t been too bad for Team Hayes in a few runs this time, the latest coming in The Valley where she was last in the race and was good in the piece without threatening behind boss Lady Roux. Poor racing pattern but if he is within range, he is good enough to threaten.
