4 Lacrima (Bet Now: $3.50) is a mare that is flying for Michael Hickmott and confident she can continue her winning ways. She has won two on the bounce, the latest coming last Friday at Murray Bridge where she was one of the first off the bit but found under pressure, fended them off and was too good for her rivals. She seems to be getting better as the prep goes on so happy to be in her corner here.

3 Blazerro (Bet Now: $2.50) is knocking on the door to win. He ran second to Lacrima in that race mentioned above from last Friday where he had his chance to win and battled away strongly but was just no match for that Hickmott horse, who is flying. I doubt he turns the tables, but the lack of depth should see him be around the mark once again.

1 Farooq (Bet Now: $8.00) has the runs on the board to give this a shake. Didn’t fire a shot in the Happy Trails Final behind Montign before having a break and going to the Woodford Cup at Warrnambool where he got off the speed and found the line strongly when second to the in form Ascension. Better for the run under the belt, his best is certainly good enough.

4 Dunmaghlas (Bet Now: $2.90) will jump on the bunny and prove hard to run down. Did more than enough on debut here when second to Oracle Son before going to Strathalbyn where he looked a moral on paper and duly saluted, leading throughout and spanking them with something in reserve. Should find the front comfortably and run a bold race.

I’ll take a punt in including 5 Out Of Aflica (Bet Now: $7.50) for the Clarken/O’Shea camp. This filly hasn’t raced since the Summer of 2021 where she had a two run prep to start the career, winning impressively on debut before a down the track fourth as a short priced odds on pop. Three jumpouts and a trial to get ready suggest she’s ready to go first up and generally with this stable, I back them in fresh off an extended break.

6 Prance N Dance (Bet Now: $9.00) is in with a serious shout. Did a good job from the wide gate two back behind the in form Rodeo before going to Gawler where she used the inside gate to advantage and was close up in defeat behind Starsongari, beaten just over a length in a blanket finish. Has been up a little while but continues to hold her form nicely and commands respect against these off a freshen up.

8 Winning Revolution (Bet Now: $4.20) is running out of chances but he’s hard fit and with a more conservative steer, she’ll be strong late. He ran over 1000m last Friday at Murray Bridge where Callow was asking him to hold a forward spot from the outset but he was under pressure a fair way out and just whacked to the line behind impressive winner Siyata. He’s a 1000m horse so that, plus back to a moderate race, he can bounce back.

6 Endlessly (Bet Now: $3.10) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Team Hawkes, this mare now finds herself with Phillip Stokes and this stable are very good with a tried horse. Last run was Dec 21 at Sandown when far from disgraced in defeat behind Daily Bugle. Fresh legs and back to 1050m tells me this is a prep run to see what is under the hood, but any hint of her best and she’d go very close.

4 Artful Ambition (Bet Now: $23.00) is one I could include in wider multiples. He is having his first run for Dion Koch, three weeks between runs since an okay effort behind Secret War, who would be $1.20 if he lined up here. Fast run 1050m will be ideal for him with his best and if they overdo it in front, look for him to launch late.

4 Gulinga Spirit (Bet Now: $4.00) will do me on debut. Clarken/O’Shea trained gelding that debuts and has had a very good grounding for start one. He had a Winter prep without a run but this time in, he’s had two jumpouts and two trials to get ready, each time looking impressive. Stable had a few nominated for this race but go with the sole rep here, so for me, that’s a lead.

5 Left Turn Clyde (Bet Now: $5.00) will jump on the bunny and run a bold race. Thought his trial/jumpout work was solid enough but the market said he was no chance when debuting at Murray Bridge two weeks ago. That said, he ran a super race on speed and kicked hard, only getting nabbed late by Justica’s Bonus. Better for the run under the belt, he has the right racing pattern to give himself every chance.

3 Ambello (Bet Now: $8.50) is on the seven day back up for John Macmillan after racing last Saturday in a Gawler maiden where he was near the speed throughout and battled away pretty well in defeat when third to Ice Symphony, beaten just under three lengths. The depth here, I think, isn’t as strong, and with his pattern, the gate, the claim, it all points to him running a positive race.

9 Wheels (Bet Now: $8.50) is fourth up from a break and should just about be at peak fitness. This mare in the Disagreeable Miss race from three weeks back at Gawler where she was back near last in the run and worked home very well late in the piece when third. She’s sneaky flying this girl I think and with a more positive ride, settling closer in the run, she’ll take beating.

15 Malinong Club (Bet Now: $7.00) seems a Strathalbyn or bust horse but this looks a very thin Saturday metro race and is a last start winner. Defied a notable betting drift to win at that track last time out, finishing best under a peach steer from Neindorf. That was the mile so I think getting to 2000m will be ideal, he’ll be strong late and has good upside to come compared to most.

10 Aussie Sojourn (Bet Now: $20.00) is starting to run out of chances but I am convinced she is going well. Ran over 2100m three weeks ago at Gawler and seemingly, I thought she had her chance and just whacked away late in the piece when fourth to Disagreeable Miss. Prior runs suggested a win was near and overall, this race is on the thin side, so she gets another chance in a relatively thin race.

7 Shez Betty (Bet Now: $6.00) has returned in super order for Ken Sweeney. Was big odds first up at Gawler and ran a super race in defeat when second to Wonderwomen. The query was whether that was a one off, but indeed it wasn’t because she spanked her rivals last Friday at Murray Bridge. She only has to hold form and she’ll be around the mark.

1 Wonderwomen (Bet Now: $2.50) is flying for Aaron Bain and is hard to beat against these. Dominant win a few weeks ago at Gawler where she led throughout under Wong and gave nothing else a look in, winning with something in hand in a good display. Think there is a bit more depth here, but it’s hard to knock the way she is going at the moment. Hard to beat.

3 Kenyan Wonder (Bet Now: $11.00) is third up from a break and should just about be at peak fitness. Ryan Balfour trained mare that is three weeks between runs since racing at Gawler where she was in the first few and tried her guts out but couldn’t quite get there, tiring late to run fourth to dominant winner and in form mare Wonderwomen. Hard fit now, I think she can run an improved race.

11 Whsikey N Women (Bet Now: $7.50) is bursting to win a race for Jordan Frew. He has placed his past five outings, the latest run coming over the mile at Murray Bridge last Friday where he was given a peach by Pannell and was there to win but couldn’t quite get there when third to Exalted Fire. He is finding it hard to greet the judge first but is very consistent, genuine, hard fit and in form. Plenty going for him.

5 Annika (Bet Now: $10.00) is three weeks between runs for Mick Huxtable since racing at Gawler where she was racing over 1500m. She got back and did work in the run before trying to make a sustained run under Ben Price but couldn’t quite finish it off and just felt the pinch at the end behind Metro Legend. Like her back up in trip and her best is certainly good enough.

Fitter and up to the mile are two big ticks for 3 Capricorn Ridge (Bet Now: $10.00). Three weeks between runs since resuming over 1200m at Gawler where he was run off his legs but was good late in the piece behind Secret War, who won again last Saturday to frank the form. Might want one more and a rise to 2000m, but the return was encouraging enough to command some level of respect.

12 See You In Heaven (Bet Now: $3.10) is the fresh blood, the new kid on the block, and I think she can resume with a win. She ended the Spring prep on a high, taking out the Sandown Guineas under a great ride from Craig Williams. Has eyes on bigger fish, like most engaged here, but the trial was very good, she has the pull in the weights and has a good racing style. She’ll do me.

3 Beau Rossa (Bet Now: $7.00) looks prepped up for a first up kill. He had a two run prep for their Carnival and ran well in the Winterbottom before looking a tired horse in the Gold Rush. Pushed out and responded nicely to win a trial at Strathalbyn so he looks ready to go for this, potentially with an eye towards Melbourne, whether he rises in trip or remains at sprint trips for the Oakleigh Plate.

2 Ironclad (Bet Now:
$SP.00) is a quality galloper for the Clarken/O’Shea camp that comes back home after a Spring/Summer prep in Melbourne/Perth where the clear highlight was a second in the Northerly behind star filly Amelia’s Jewel. Closed off well in a Strathalbyn trial and he is a horse who does appear to race very well with fresh legs, so keen to see how he goes.

2 Chicago Storm (Bet Now: $3.30) does seem to excel on the fresh side and he looks prepped up for a first up win. He had a pretty good Winter prep, winning a couple of races and establishing himself as a Saturday class animal. Been given a good break and his trial win last week at Strathalbyn was very good. First up at 1200m tells me he’s ready to go, so happy to be in his corner.

8 Kingson (Bet Now: $31.00) will put himself on speed and give cheek at a price. Game third two back on the home deck at Port Lincoln before going to Gawler where he was chasing Secret War from the outset and battled away pretty well in defeat, finishing fourth in a good effort given the work he did in the run. I don’t think he can beat this lot, but could pinch a first four spot once again.
Long Shot
4 Kalamon (Bet Now: $26.00) is a Team Jolly trained gelding that resumes. He hasn’t raced since October 22 over 1800m here when producing an end of prep run, finishing down the track behind Six Foot Song, who was flying at the time. Can’t find a trial/jumpout for him so I assume he’ll need the run but if they overdo it in front, he’ll be one of the strongest at the end.
