Colin Morikawa and Adam Scott have become the latest players to commit to Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TMRW Golf League (TGL). Together with the two founders Jon Rahm and Justin Thomas, Morikawa and Scott add three major championship titles to the current cast of the Monday Night Simulator League which is set to debut in January 2024.
“Throughout my amateur and collegiate golf career, I loved team play and the extra energy it brought to my game – especially in match play. It was enhanced with opportunities for me to represent the United States in the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup , and I look forward to being a part of the TGL team next year as well,” Morikawa said. “Moreover, I think TGL’s design will appeal to a broad spectrum of casual golf fans to provide sports fans the best of the world in weekly, primetime golf competition, from start to finish in just two hours, and bring our sport to life.” Will present. For young fans.”
Morikawa is the youngest contestant ever to sign on TGL and brings with him several awards. The only man to win two different major championships in his tournament debut, the 25-year-old has five PGA Tour titles and started his career with 22 consecutive cuts, second only to Woods’ 25.
Scott’s joining the TGL will be his latest chapter with Woods. The 42-year-old has been witness to some of Woods’ greatest achievements in that same era, but is certainly not without them. By winning the 2013 Masters, Scott got the better of Woods at Barclays later that summer.
The following season, Scott usurped Woods to become world No. 1 and eventually held the top spot for 11 weeks. Overall, Scott has earned 31 professional wins, 14 of them on the PGA Tour and the latest at the 2020 Genesis Invitational, which Woods hosts. At this point in his career, Scott understands that his best golf may be behind him, but that hasn’t deterred his star power.
“I’ve seen an increase in simulator golf when I travel outside the United States, especially through Asia,” Scott said. “There are tournaments that have thousands of entrants playing against each other… Given how quickly it has been picked up overseas, TGL is really something I admire and certainly appreciate. The names behind will have a huge impact.
“I think it’s a really big opportunity for me at this point in my career, I really like the fact that it’s attracting some of the biggest names ever, and that I can play with these superstar players.” Was able to make my way along.”
The TGL will feature six teams of three PGA Tour players and a schedule consisting of 15 regular season matches. Players will hit full shots in simulators while fans will take short game shots in a new arena on Palm Beach State’s campus. Matches are expected to last up to two hours as TGL aims to harness the excitement behind up-tempo golf. With 12 locations yet to be announced, even more big names are sure to follow.
