There is discord in the Groupama-FDJ camp after GC man David Gadeau’s comments on disgruntled sprinter Arnaud Démare were leaked on Twitter.
Goudu’s comments, which were made on the Discord app, are from just last week. In a series of posts, the 26-year-old said she and Demare had a strained relationship and accused her former partner of refusing to get in a lift with her and deliberately trying to push her to the ground during some filming .
Goudou also said that he and Démare rarely spoke and that he did not want his old teammate to go to the Tour de France this summer and had told him so.
“The war isn’t over. We’re on a crusade. The advantage is we don’t talk to each other, and we barely ride together,” Goudou wrote in the Discord chat.

Screengrabs of the comments were posted on Twitter on Wednesday evening and have been viewed thousands of times.
Groupama FDJ has not issued a statement on them, but Goudou took to Twitter to apologize for them.
“My comments should never have been made in a public setting. I apologize to the team and Arnaud,” he wrote.
Demare and Goudou have not raced together much in recent seasons and in 2022 the pair race together at the Breton Classic in August. Goudou rode the Tour de France last year and finished fourth overall.
Demare won three stages at the Giro d’Italia and the points jersey, but he is keen to return to the Tour de France in 2023. Groupama-FDJ has not yet published the riders’ racing schedule.
