Trainer David Vandyke has confirmed that National Champion Three-Year-Old Filly Title winner Gypsy Goddess for 2021-22 has been sold as a broodmare and will move to Japan where she will join another former David Vandyke runner, Will now mate with broodmare. , Yankee Rose, who won the Queensland Horse of the Year title for the 2015/16 season.

VanDyke gave this information in a still social media post.

‘It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Gypsy Goddess.

‘She has been sold and will join our former top mare Yankee Rose as broodmare in Japan.

‘Gypsy Devi has been a true warrior and has been well loved. Many thanks and appreciation go out to his contacts, my staff, his riders and all who supported and cared for him including vets, farriers, physicians, dentists etc.

In recent days, the ‘Gypsy Goddess’ has had bad breath, and an endoscopic examination revealed she may struggle to reach her full potential on the track without further procedures. This made the decision to make a change in his life easier.

‘It’s time to say goodbye to her, watch the video with gratitude and hope to see her a happy mother in the future.’

Gypsy Goddess retired with a race record of six wins and four places from ten career starts, including Group 1 wins in the Queensland Oaks and Group 1 wins in the Winery and ATC Oaks.

During her career, Gypsy Devi, a winner from 1400 m to 2200 m, collected $1,972,300 in prize money.
