It’s almost unbelievable at this point, but rumors have surfaced that suggest Joe Shimoda broke his collarbone yesterday and will therefore miss the 250SX East debut. This news was first shared by our colleagues on swap moto live, who are close to Jo. It’s another blow for the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki team, which earlier this week lost Austin Forkner and Seth Haymaker (their second rider for the 250SX East campaign) in the first round of the 2023 Monster Energy Supercross .
With Jett Reynolds gone until the 2023 pro motocross start, the Monster Energy Pro Circuit has no riders left for the Kawasaki 250SX EX. Carson Mumford had already been drafted into the 250SX West as a fill-in rider for the injured Forkner, but he too has returned to riding since his injury. We’ve learned that Chris Bloss has spoken to Mitch Payton about a possible fill-in role, but nothing concrete yet. The team is currently represented in 250SX West by Cameron McAdoo, who sits third in the championship standings after two rounds of competition. A rare ray of sunshine.
We’ll have more on this developing story as more information inevitably breaks out.
