LIV Golf has announced its playing schedule for the 2023 season, which will feature 14 events from February to November. While its inaugural campaign featured only eight events, LIV Golf’s second season will see nearly double the number of tournaments as it travels to exciting new locations such as Mexico, Australia and Singapore.
Not only will some of the locations differ from its first season, but the golf courses and schedule of some. LIV Golf will debut in Mexico in late February at the El Cameleon Golf Club in Mayakoba. A longtime host course for the PGA Tour, the Greg Norman design will instead feature LIV golfers in 2023.
A busy spring will see LIV members play six times from mid-March to late May and potentially eight times to qualify for the 2023 Masters and the 2023 PGA Championship. An extensive travel schedule will see the contestants play back-to-back weeks in Australia and Singapore before returning to the United States.
From there, the schedule opens up a bit as only one tournament in June and another in July are scheduled as part of the major championship season. Rather than repeat the Team Championship at Trump National Doral, LIV has decided to take its Team Championship international at the Royal Greens & Country Club in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The site of Brooks Koepka’s victory in 2022, will instead be used to decide a teams championship in early November 2023.
Broadcasting and streaming options have changed, so the schedule isn’t the only aspect of LIV Golf to change. Streamed in 2022 on YouTube, Facebook and its official website, LIV Golf recently tied up with The CW Network for the next three years. Viewers can now expect to see the first round of the LIV Golf Tournament on The CW app on Fridays and the final two days of competition on The CW Network.
