Women’s cricket is on the rise in India and the World Cup victory has raised the stature of women’s cricket several notches higher. I am happy to announce Rs 5 crore for the entire team and support staff as prize money. This is certainly a path-breaking year.

Earlier, opting to field first, the Indian bowlers completely dominated the game from the outset against England in the summit clash. Tita Sadhu got India’s first wicket of the innings by dismissing England opener Liberty Heap for a two-ball duck.
The pair of Grace Scrivens and Niah Fiona Holland tried to handle the pressure and played some boundary shots. However, Holland could not stay at the crease for long as he was sent back to the pavilion.
After the wicket of Holland, the English batsmen could not last long and lost their wickets at regular intervals in front of the tremendous bowling performance of the Indian bowlers. India started with the new ball and bundled out England Women Under-19 for 68 at regular intervals.
Tita Sadhu, Archana Devi and Parshvi Chopra took two wickets each. Rayna Macdonald Gay top-scored for England with 19 off 24 balls.
Brief Scores: ENGLAND 69/3 (Ryanna Macdonald Gay 19, Alexa Stonehouse 11; Titus Sadhu 2-6) v INDIA 69-3 (Soumya Tiwary 24*, Soumya Tiwary 24; Hannah Baker 1-13).
