Marianne Vos isn’t going anywhere right now.
On Friday it was confirmed that Vos would remain on Jumbo-Visma’s books until 2025, a contract extension that would see the so-called “goat” racing until he is at least 38.
Vos has made cycling more or less complete with his road and cyclocross world titles, an Olympic gold medal, multiple Classics wins, a record 32 Giro Donne stages and five days in the Tour de France yellow jersey.
But she is not tired of it yet.
Vos said Friday’s still got headroom for further growth to deliver.
“I still really enjoy cycling. I enjoy racing together and fighting for the win as a team,” she said. “In recent years, women’s cycling has progressed to such a professional level that I continue to search for new challenges.”

Vos’ crush continues into the 2022 season.
Eight WorldTour-level victories at the age of 35 saw the Dutch woman take on a new generation of equally tough sprint strong women.
“My own development is still ongoing. I am driven to keep working hard to bring out the best in myself,” Vos said.
“At Team Jumbo-Visma, I also find the ambition to get better every day and the passion to go all out. This is one of the reasons why I feel at home in this team. I also like the professionalism and personal approach. There is a lot of room for individuals within the team, which makes the team stronger. I really like him.”
The Jumbo-Visma women’s team rides in 2023 with 10 riders aged 25 or under, including newly signed multi-discipline sensation Fame van Ampel.
“It’s great to share my experience with the team’s young riders and learn from them,” Vos said on Friday. “They make me look at things differently. That’s how we stay sharp and build a strong team.”
The 20-year-old Van Ampel rides as the top favorite for next weekend’s cyclocross worlds in a race that eight-time champion and template rider Vos has been forced to abandon due to arterial issues.
Van Ampel and Vos look set to inspire each other in 2023 – the rest of the peloton be warned.
