Strava said sorry.

The activity-tracking behemoth responded to the blaze of criticism and canceled subscriptions with an official statement that tried to douse the flames due to its recent confusing price hike.

“It was not our intention to hide these price changes, we moved very quickly,” read the note.

Last month, social media was boiling with bad vibes when Google increased the prices for its premium subscriptions.

Fees were increased anywhere between 15 to 70 percent depending on the region, billing type and date of signup. The new charges were difficult to confirm.

“We’ve updated our membership pricing. Our messaging was very confusing. That’s why we’re providing more clarity,” read the statement on the Strava website.

“In an effort to roll out pricing updates to our subscriptions, we made the mistake of not providing enough information directly to our community. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and concern this has affected so many of our valued customers Huh.

“It was not our intention to hide these price changes, we moved too quickly. We also missed the opportunity to communicate to long-time monthly paying customers that by moving from monthly payments to annual payments, they are making a significant difference. Price hike can be avoided completely.

Strava confirmed that it is moving to consistent pricing by country, meaning all users in a nation pay the same monthly or annual price. The fee was previously determined when the user signed up for the premium service.

An updated pricing page was also added to the desktop and mobile apps.

“Strava is fully committed to our community,” the note continued. “This commitment means that our customers are not allowed to receive an automated email about a subscription cost change, or to read or hear about price change confusion elsewhere that is unacceptable.

“We hear and understand your frustration, and we aim to clarify subscription rates for our community.”

California-based Strava is reported to serve around 100 million users. The recent round of billing hikes was the first since 2009, a 13-year period that saw rapid growth in services with regular updates to training, mapping and privacy features.

Strava will be hoping to douse the flames after a difficult few months for the training app monolith. The company reported laying off about 40 employees — 15 percent of the total workforce — late last year.
