Undoubtedly one of the finest batsmen in the history of T20 cricket, Suryakumar Yadav had a poor performance in the 2nd T20I against New Zealand on Sunday. The India star could manage only 26 off 31 balls as the team struggled to reach the target of 101 on a challenging wicket. While at the crease, Suryakumar was also involved in a run out along with Washington Sundar. As Surya expressed his disappointment at being denied a single, Washington gave up his wicket for him.
The incident happened in the 15th over of India’s batting. Believing that one was possible, Suryakumar ran for the wicket but Washington remained unharmed. Surya refuses to back down and pushes Sundar for a single but he hesitates.
In the end, realizing the importance of the veteran batsman’s wicket, Washington sacrificed his wicket by allowing Surya to touch the crease at the non-striker’s end. Watch the video of the incident here:

Suryakumar Yadav scored an unbeaten 26 as India beat New Zealand by six wickets in a low-scoring and tense second Twenty20 International to level the series 1-1 on Sunday.
India restricted New Zealand to 99-8 in the three-match series opener, with Yuzvendra Chahal leading the spin charge on a slow and turning pitch in Lucknow.
India then lost regular wickets as the Kiwi bowlers took it in the final over, but Suryakumar combined with Hardik Pandya to chase down the target with one ball to spare.
The match saw 30 overs of spin with not a single six being hit in either innings.
